Who We Are

Hermitage at Diamond is a nonprofit organization made up of preservationists and community activators. Along with partners and donors, this team is working to revive Hermitage at Diamond brick by brick, window by window, and door by door.

Meet Carol Moore

Project Manager

Take a stroll through the Uptown neighborhood of Grand Rapids, and you’re bound to see Carol’s impact. An active resident of East Hills for decades, Carol has been the driving force behind numerous preservation and community-based projects in the area: Wealthy Theatre, Scorpion Hearts Club, and now Hermitage at Diamond, where her unrelenting energy and passion is steering the restoration and rehabilitation efforts.

Mary Reagan Shapton

Board Chair

Mary is the owner of Reagan Marketing + Design. No stranger to restoration, she was active in restoring 912 Wealthy St., the current address of her business.

Vince Lambert

Vince Lambert

Treasurer

Vince currently is the Chief Financial Officer of Dwelling Place Grand Rapids. Inspired by Carol Moore’s passion for restoration, Vince joined the board and is the current treasurer.

Susan Hallifax

Board Member

Susan’s connection to Hermitage at Diamond goes back to the beginning. Her family was part of the original congregation when the building was the Third Reformed Church.

Ingrid Miller

Ingrid Miller

Board Member

Ingrid is the Executive Director of Uptown Grand Rapids, Inc. She holds master degrees in both historic preservation and urban and regional planning, making her a perfect fit to serve on the board.

JoLayne Morneau

Board Member

With a strong background in historic preservation and a developing interest in grant writing, JoLayne’s work focuses on state historic preservation in Ohio. Based in West Michigan, she brings valuable insights and a growing expertise to the board.

Kailey Smith-Barth

Board Member

As a local artist, curator, and ArtPrize Exhibitions + Internship Manager, Kailey is well-informed on all the artistic energy and buzz happening in Grand Rapids. She joined the board in 2025.

Abigail Rosenow

Abigail Rosenow

Board Member

Abigail is an architectural project reviews manager at Ohio State Historic Preservation Office. She is West Michigan-based and joined the board in late 2024.

Jennifer Williams

Jennifer Williams

Board Member

Jennifer is the director of family & community engagement for Grand Rapids Public Schools. She is also a former principal of Congress Elementary School, adjacent to Hermitage at Diamond.
